Near Conroe - 2/22/2010
Closer to home, the clouds started to break up, and I was able to enjoy some sun during the last hour.
It's kind of an anticlimactic ending, I admit, but this was the last photo I took before I made it home. Amusingly, my trip was extended by about another half hour. I discovered the road to my house was closed due to a really bad accident, requiring a detour that was already jam-packed with weekday afternoon traffic! I guess I was meant to stay on the road that much longer. But finally, I was home, safe and sound, with a car, a camera, and a head full of cherished souvenirs and memories.
Thanks again to my friends in Portland, San Jose, Phoenix and Dallas for their generous hospitality. Thanks also to Motel 6 for making this trip more affordable, and thanks to my family and my roommate for keeping the home fires burning, without actually burning the house down!
I'm already ready for the next road trip. I just have to find out where and when it will be...
